Service releases have bug fixes and minor enhancements. They are only available on the Internet. Updating to the current service release is not always critical, unless you're experiencing problems listed on the service release notes below.

Each service release contains all prior service releases. You can update Flamingo to the current service release by downloading the current service release.

Post your comments, bug reports, and feature requests on the Flamingo support newsgroup.

What's New: Flamingo 1.0 SR1, 30-Apr-2002

    Render time preserved in statistics
Render time added to the Flamingo statistics.

    Default directory for saving renderings
The default directory is the location where saves and opens bitmaps. Flamingo uses the Rhino default location for these files.

New search order for materials and bitmaps
Flamingo now is caching searches for materials and bitmaps. This can improve translation speeds for some models, especially on networks.

Bug Fixes

Program hang on Windows XP dual processor, non-English keyboard
The raytracing process may hang after completion or canceling. The problem occured more reliably on dual-processor Win2000 or WinXP systems with international keyboard layouts. This is fixed.

    Tree Edit dialog box preview
Tree Edit dialog box rendered preview window was not working correctly. This is fixed.

GIF file format incorrectly listed as file type by animation script
The GIF file format was incorrectly listed as a save option for the Animation toolbar. This option was not supported and has been removed as a file type.

    Groundcover properties
When you insert groundcover, Flamingo asked for a single insertion point, and inserted a Rhino square with one corner at that point. You could not use Properties/FlamingoPlant to modify the area covered in the rendering. This is fixed.

    Render window display problem
When a render is in progress, hovering over View Zoom Level Normal Viewing 1:1, the status bar read "Material Editor." This is fixed.
